DATUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, which is an IB World School and a British Cambridge Accredited School, is birthed out of DATUS COMPLEX SCHOOLS – a mother/umbrella School established in 1962 that gave birth to other sister schools/branches in Ghana, West Africa.

DATUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, the youngest addition to the Datus Complex Schools, was opened on 6TH SEPTEMBER, 2010.
It started as an Early Years School with principles of Maria Montessori as the teaching method, hence the name ‘DATUS GRAND MONTESSORI’. The school grew quickly into a PRIMARY SCHOOL offering the Cambridge International Primary Programme in 2011.
In 2013, an additional arm was added to the department as the Secondary School which started with the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) a two-year programme qualification of Cambridge International Examination (CIE) now Cambridge, which prepares students for further pre-university level study which is the A-levels.
The Cambridge Advance Level (‘A’ Levels) Examination followed; this is also a two-year programme which qualifies students into Tertiary Education.
Datus International School (under the name DATUS INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE) was awarded a full CENTRE for all the Cambridge Examinations in 2021.
In 2014, Datus International School subscribed to the INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME (IB-PYP).
Subsequent to rigorous application process, workshops and training, the first hurdle of CANDIDACY was awarded to make DATUS A CANDIDATE SCHOOL in March, 2018. This phase allows the school to practice the framework for two (2) years in 2021.
DATUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (DIS) IS NOW AN AUTHORIZED IBPYP WORLD SCHOOL.

make it attractive to parents/guardians and learners
Datus, a pioneer in pre-tertiary education, offered, especially in the multi-cultural harbour city of Tema, an alternative access to standard schooling for the heterogeneous community, most of who could not benefit from the limited access to government-sponsored schools. The teaching and learning of French in addition to English was a special attraction to parents in the community, including nationals from neighbouring countries. Today, Datus has established facilities for pre-school, primary and secondary (international), with envisaged expansion to tertiary. We keep attracting students of diverse nationalities because our policies enhance accommodation and unity in diversity.
